Atlantis Dweller has now reached its port of call, Lagos. This will be the base in the near future as she is build first and foremost for equatorial waters. After arriving the 14th January, there was a reception on Friday the 15th onboard the vessel. Godmother of the vessel, Anwa- Edidem Lady Comfort, was the guest of honor at the event arranged by OMAK Maritime and Petropride Subsea Limited. The event was arranged to display this state of the art vessel to close associates and other collaborators.
The MDs of Omak maritime and Petro Pride, Matthew Karimo and Tony Ikott led the show and close coworkers from these companies were present. The Joint Venture’s close partner, Exxon Mobil was present with John Crowsen head of Construction Lead and Emmanuel Okon OCIP Project Manager. Other companies that work with these three Joint Venture partners were also present. Matthew Carimo, the govenor of Akwa Ibom’s attaché, Mr. Wilcox and the godmother all held speeches.
This initiates a long term stay in equatorial waters for Atlantis Dweller, even if there is no long term contract signed.
Below are some pictures taken during the event in Lagos (2 pictures) and pictures from the mobilization, crane testing and bunkering before departing from Norway. The first picture is of Lady Comfort cutting the cake to welcome her vessel to Nigeria.
